Making the toolbar visible enough to see and understand the tools, but with enough transparency to see the camera's view underneath.

Solutions

We achieved a better balance of shades of grey and transparency. On the typography, I gave spacing between letters and experimented with upper and lower cases.

What I learned

Interaction feedback is key when using touch-only devices. I view certain types of animations as a form of communication, like a loading bar that displays between pages. The user needs to know when they've made a successful or failed attempt, when an image was captured, when a message was sent, and other objectives that require confirmation. Timing, delay, and easing are just a few factors that make interaction feedback essential to any app.
