  • Consult with Sales, Marketing, & Support departments to understand their goals.
  • Create user stories that address possible scenarios.
  • Research the best practices to achieving their goals while minimizing the dependency on external business solutions.
  • Build mobile solutions for tasks that are usually handled in the office, specifically for employees who travel for sales & technical support.
 

Solutions

  • Redefine the existing workflow to make it considerably simpler, efficient, and engaging for users.
  • Create a consumer-facing app that features product information, a news feed, and product support via chat.
  • Design the enterprise app to have role-based features.

What I learned

While conducting preliminary interview, I found that users are very accustomed to what they've been doing and have difficulty imaging what they really want. It's important to understand what the user needs, not what they routinely do; and it's my job to find an innovative solution. I also learned to accommodate modularity in UX design. It became clear that the app would scale the business, so it was essential to leave room for the product to evolve.
